Mary Frances

Here is paper doll by Dorothy McLaughlin based on a book by Jane Fryer and Jane Boyer 1913.  I do not know when this doll was published or what magazine she came from.  I love her little doll with some matching outfits.  If anyone has more information on this doll, please let me know.

Bowtastic and Bowtiful Designs (Convention Raffle Prize)

Here is a doll I designed for the 2014 National Paper Doll Convention raffle prize.  The convention is going on now June 25th through the 29th in Richmond, VA.  Due to tight budgeting, I cannot attend the convention this year.  I decided to do a doll with a bow theme and mostly mix and match outfits.  I wanted to make more pages and I may add to her wardrobe in the future, but the deadline creeped up on me.  I made the doll and clothing with Adobe Photoshop CS5.  She has four pages of clothing with 8 hairstyles, 7 pairs of shoes, 8 purses, 6 dresses, 9 tops and 9 bottoms.  The doll has an anime inspiration.  I will be posting less this month and the next few months.  Why does this say sample?  I may expand this set and have it for sale one day...  The convention raffle prize is signed by me and will be the only one ever signed.  THIS DOLL IS NOW FOR SALE (download) ON MY ETSY SHOP!

Dolly Dingle's Friend Gracie

Here is a Dolly Dingle paper doll from June 1924 named Gracie. I believe this doll is complete but she may be missing a hat or something small.  This is a cut set.  The artist is Grace G Drayton and this was published in Pictorial Review.  I think there is a newer post card version of this doll but it does not feature all of the outfits.

Doll World

This is a two page paper doll from the magazine Doll World 1998, June.  The artist is Yuko Green.  The pages scanned in somewhat darker than I would have liked with a pink cast.  There are three outfits, including two cute children.  Once again, I will not post as often in the future because I am preparing to perhaps move as well as seeking another job so my schedule will be busy.

Here is the OPDAG Newsletter Issue 12.  The theme is "Make 'em Laugh", featuring more silly paper dolls of various subjects. The issue is in black and white.  Not all pages or paper dolls are shown here. I am currently working on paper dolls inspired by past OPDAG Themes, but I'm not sure what I would do for this theme.  A clown perhaps?  I will not post often this week.

Seven and Seventeen

Here is a partial paper doll set called Seven and Seventeen from 1945 published by Merrill.  I have two of the four dolls, one doll is missing an arm and one is missing part of a hand.  This set is played with and has some tears and missing tabs.  The clothes are cute and there are matching outfits for the sisters.  This was part of a lot purchased from goodwill.

Jane Arden's Wardobe

This paper doll is from 6-5-1941.  It is a full page but I have not scanned the comic yet.  She has 4 outfits, 3 hats and an extra pair of shoes.  One of the outfits reminds me of a wedding dress and the one next to it is very patriotic.  The doll is in profile, which is a nice pose.

Description:newspaper doll
Name: Jane Arden's Wardobe
Date: 1941
full page comic, only paper doll is scanned.  Paper is yellowed and brittle due to age.

Quintuplet paper dolls

Jane

Jean

These two dolls are from the set New Quintuplet Dolls by Merrill.  I only have two dolls and they did not come with any outfits.  I made three outfits for each doll and used marker to color.  Marker is a medium I have not worked with very much so I am experimenting with techniques.  I may not post much this week.
