Dolly Dingle's Little Friend Joey goes to a Carnival

First off, let me say Happy New Year!  This is my last post for 2013!  Here is the Pictorial Review from January 1924, featuring Dolly Dingle's friend Joey (in a bear suit).

Dolly Dingle's Christmas Friends

Here is another paper doll from Grace G Drayton from December 1921.  I believe this one is called Dolly Dingle's Christmas friends.  This set may not be complete.

christmas card (uncolored)

I was planning on coloring this before Christmas, but I am sick.  I used Copic markers for the skin tone.  The rest is in black and white.  Wish everyone a Merry Christmas.  This will be my last post for the week.

Angel paper dolls

Here is my Christmas present to all my followers and visitors to this blog.  I tried to make this a pdf, but the colors just looked wrong, so I used PNG files instead.  There are six dolls and three pages of clothing, each with a theme.  The first page is all angel outfits, the second is Christmas theme and the last page is winter wear.  To attach wings to the paper dolls, use light double stick tape.  It is best to print these dolls onto card stock. Happy Holidays everyone.

Christmas pages

1984

1986
Here are two pages from Good Housekeeping magazine drawn by Joan Walsh Anglund featuring Christmas themes.  These are not quite paper dolls, since there are no wardrobes for the dolls.  I may not post very much this week until after the Christmas is over.

Dolly Dingle has a party for Poor Polly

Here is a paper doll from 1921 by Grace G Drayton from the Pictorial Review magazine.  This is a cut set and may be missing pieces.  It has a Christmas theme, but I believe it actually came out in January.

Little Flower Girls by Judy M Johnson

This set came with a letter.  The letter says:

"Little Flower Girls"

Rose and Tiger Lily's costumes have been inspired by the colors of the flowers which have named them; Rose is sweet and delicate in her pinks and whites with touches of leaf green.  Tiger Lily is bright in her sunshine colors of yellow, peach and orange with warm  green accents.
If you would like to color them, you may wish to apply them to a heavier paper (stick glue works very well) before coloring them with art pencils or watercolor.  The dolls have been printed on heavy Bristol stock which requires no further stiffening. Enjoy.

This book is an actual size reproduction of the artist's original watercolor paper doll art.  It is limited to 25 copies only.
